SUSTAINABILITY
The time is now

We're Starting Now
So, start with us.
The Rebirth collection resinates with the changes following the restraints of pandemic life, re-emerging into a world where systems
are no longer what they used to be.
Therefore, the Rebirth collection has made a conscious effort to implement elements of sustainability.
So, where have we integrated sustainability and why have we chosen to do so?
Fabrics
Lenzing EcoVero
Here at Basque, we know our customers love viscose due its soft hand-feel and luxurious finish.
To ensure you still get similar product, but with a more sustainable contribute to fashion, we are introducing Ecovero.
EcoVero is a fabrication that is derived from "certified renewable wood sources using an eco-responsible production process by meeting high environmental standards" (Lenzing, Ecovero 2021).

We know you also love versatility and comfort in your wardrobe.
Therefore, we have opted to integrate Tencel Lyocell, a fabrication that long-lasting, is breathable, great colour retention after washing and is biodegradable.
The origins of Tencel Lyocell is from renewable raw wood and use an environmentally responsible production process. Tencel Lyocell is compostable and biodegradable, ensuring a full life cycle for the product, reverting back to nature.

Grape marc leather is produced by a company called Vegea, who's ethos is sustainability.
The Grape Marc leather is produced as the name suggests, from grapes, in particular, grape waste. The waste composes of grape skins, stalks and seeds which are discarded during wine production. In comparison to standard leather, Vegea ensure that no toxic solutions, heavy metals or dangerous substances for humans and the environment are being used during the making processes.
