This touchscreen assistant will be made available to customers at the Basque shopping pad in Myer. The device will serve as a virtual sales assistant, will merge the virtual and in-person shopping experience for the customer.

Easy Access to Information

Everything the customer needs to know about the collection will be available on this one device. For the time-poor customer,  they have the option to view the entire collection in one place if they do not have time to browse all the racks. The customer will be able to access all product information, including product description, fabric, care, sizing, product availability, and styling suggestions.

"Find Your Fit"

Customers can get customised fit suggestions by providing information on their body measurements, as well as a quick questionnaire on their preferences of fit, colours, and the occasion they are shopping for.

With the information provided a virtual avatar will be generated, which will allow customers to try-on and outfit garments on screen. This way, they will be able to participate in the fitting room experience without having to set foot in one, saving them time, returns, and multiple visits to the fitting rooms!

Justification:

Given the popularity of electronic devices in our everyday life and the data we collected from our survey previously, which shows Myer has a medium to low rating regards its in-store experience, to improve that, Basque could add an in-store touch screen assistant.

With the in-store screen assistant, customers can learn all the product knowledge they want on the store iPad. It would also be time-saving for customers to find the items in accurate size and send them to the fitting room straight away after one requirement on iPad. Integrating technology can help Basque set a standard customer service and control it on the same level from store to store more easily.

 

Furthermore, the introduction of in-store touch screen can be a brand new shopping experience for customers, which would potentially excite customers to take a photo or video to share with their social circle or even post on the online community, improving word-of-mouth for both Basque and Myer.
